You could also use the following words to say thank you in German, although you tend to hear them less often:
Besten Dank - Many thanks
(Literally means 'Best thanks')
Herzlichen Dank - Many thanks
(Literally 'heartfelt thanks'. Formal.)
Tausend Dank - Thanks a million
(Literally means 'a thousand thanks')

Here are some ready-made sentences to help you say thank you.
I have used 'Danke' (Thank you) in the majority of the sentences, but you could also use 'Vielen Dank' (Many thanks). This would also make it slightly more formal.
